The community in Lawrence County, Ohio is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Michael Ferguson, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating roadway incident on Friday morning. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the tragic incident occurred along County Road 181 near Private Drive 963 in Upper Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. Authorities from the Ohio State Highway Patrol – Ironton Post were notified of the situation at approximately 8:44 a.m. and quickly responded to begin their investigation.

Preliminary reports indicate that Michael was driving a 2003 Saturn Vue westbound when the vehicle crossed left of the center line and collided with an eastbound 2019 Ram 1500. Emergency crews responded swiftly, working to provide aid at the scene.

Michael Ferguson was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center, where medical staff fought to save him. Sadly, despite those efforts, he later passed away due to the injuries he sustained.

The driver of the Ram 1500 and two additional passengers were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries. First responders from the Upper Township Fire Department, Lawrence County EMS, and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, working together during the difficult and emotional response.

While officials continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, the focus for many in the community has turned to remembering the life of Michael Ferguson.
