The community of Gonzales is grieving the untimely loss of Samuel Wright, age 43, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating motorcycle crash in East Baton Rouge Parish. According to the Louisiana State Police, the accident occurred around 2:42 p.m. on US 61, just south of Jefferson Highway. Samuel was traveling southbound in the right lane behind a 2021 Kia Soul when, for reasons still under investigation, he accelerated to a high rate of speed and collided with the left rear of the vehicle. The impact caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle, resulting in critical injuries. Despite the rapid response of emergency personnel, Samuel succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The driver and passenger of the Kia sustained only minor injuries, a small consolation amid this profound tragedy.
