In Loving Memory of Landyn W. Maupin

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we remember and honor the life of Landyn W. Maupin,  of Anderson, Indiana, whose life was tragically cut short in an accident that has left his family, friends, and community in deep mourning.

Landyn was the unrestrained driver of a Tesla Model 3 traveling northbound on State Road 169 when his vehicle collided with the rear of a parked semi tractor-trailer. The impact was devastating. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to officials, his cause of death was multiple blunt impact injuries, and the manner of death has been ruled accidental. Speed and unsafe passing were identified as the primary contributors to the crash.

In the wake of this tragedy, the Huntington County Coroner’s Office extended their deepest sympathies to the Maupin family and friends. They were assisted at the scene by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, Markle Police Department, Mt. Etna Fire Department, Warren Fire Department, Huntington Central Dispatch, Huntington County Traffic Team, and Parkview Huntington Hospital EMS. Campbell Wrecker and Parker Wrecker Services assisted in the removal of the vehicles. The investigation was led by Deputy Brock Woodward of the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, alongside Coroner Philip Zahm and Deputy Coroner Doug.

While the details of the accident are heartbreaking, they do not define Landyn’s life. He was more than the tragic circumstances of his passing. He was a son, a friend, a young man with dreams, ambitions, and a future filled with possibility. At just 20 years old, Landyn stood on the threshold of adulthood, navigating life’s journey with the same mix of hope and determination that marks so many young lives.

Those who knew Landyn remember his spirit — the laughter he shared, the kindness he showed, and the presence he carried into every room. Whether spending time with friends, enjoying the simple moments of everyday life, or making plans for the future, Landyn left impressions that will never fade. His energy, his individuality, and his unique personality will continue to live on in the memories of all who loved him.
