LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) – Authorities are investigating a devastating two-vehicle collision in Logan County that claimed the lives of Lee Bradshaw and Jose Garcia Jr. and left two juveniles injured on Wednesday evening.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on August 21 to a crash that occurred approximately five miles east of Russellville along Franklin Road (KY 100). When first responders arrived, they found two heavily damaged vehicles following what officials described as a head-on collision.
Investigators determined that a Ford F-150, driven by Dekamren Terry of Russellville, had been traveling eastbound when it collided head-on with a Ford Crown Victoria traveling westbound and driven by Lee Bradshaw, also of Russellville.
The impact of the crash was severe. Logan County Coroner Ben Kemplin pronounced Lee Bradshaw and his passenger, Jose Garcia Jr., deceased at the scene. Both men were residents of Russellville and were described by those who knew them as hardworking individuals whose loss will be deeply felt throughout the community.
Two juveniles were also in Bradshaw’s vehicle at the time of the collision. One was transported to The Medical Center in Bowling Green for treatment of their injuries, while the second juvenile, who sustained more serious injuries, was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Their current conditions have not been released.
Authorities have not confirmed what may have led to the tragic crash. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office, along with accident reconstruction units, continues to investigate the circumstances. Deputies have not indicated whether speed, impairment, or road conditions played a role.
Local residents say the stretch of KY 100 near Russellville has seen its share of dangerous incidents in recent years, raising concerns about visibility, road curves, and heavy traffic in the area.
As news of the tragedy spread, the Russellville community expressed an outpouring of grief and support for the families of those involved. Neighbors and friends have already begun sharing condolences and organizing ways to help the surviving juveniles and loved ones impacted by this heartbreaking loss.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release more details as the investigation progresses. In the meantime, officials are urging motorists to exercise caution when traveling along rural highways where head-on collisions can often turn deadly in an instant.
This tragedy serves as a somber reminder of how quickly lives can be changed on the roadway. Two families are now left mourning the loss of loved ones, while two young lives hang in the balance as they fight to recover from their injuries.
