In Loving Memory of Ronald Kinnamon 🕊️

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the community of Richfield Township is mourning the tragic loss of Ronald Kinnamon, an 8-month-old child whose life was taken far too soon following a devastating collision north of Davison on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Richfield Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. along M-15. Authorities say a 29-year-old woman from Richfield Township was driving a Jeep Patriot with her three young children in the vehicle. She had reportedly been waiting to make a left turn onto Clark Road when a Chevrolet utility truck, driven by a 49-year-old man from Taylor, struck the Jeep from behind.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the driver and the three children—ages 4, 2, and 8 months—to Hurley Medical Center with severe injuries. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, baby Ronald Kinnamon was tragically pronounced deceased. The two other young children remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition early Friday, while their mother also remained hospitalized as doctors continued to monitor her condition.

The driver of the Chevrolet truck sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being released.

The Davison Area Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the truck was not believed to be intoxicated at the time of the incident. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as they work to fully understand what led to the tragic event.

While investigators continue their work, the heartbreaking loss of Ronald Kinnamon has deeply affected family members, friends, and the entire Richfield Township community. Though his time on earth was only eight months, his life carried immeasurable meaning to those who loved him. He was a cherished child whose presence brought joy, hope, and love into the lives of his family.

For parents, siblings, relatives, and loved ones, the loss of a child is a pain beyond words.
