MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting at a Parkway Village apartment complex left a man and a boy injured Friday evening, and police say four suspects remain on the run.
According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers were called to the Camelot Manor Apartments around 6:20 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered two victims — a man and a young boy — both suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been released.
MPD confirmed that one man has been detained as part of the ongoing investigation. However, preliminary information indicates that four other suspects, all dressed in black clothing and wearing black ski masks, fled the scene before officers arrived. Authorities have not yet identified the individuals or provided a motive behind the shooting.
The chaotic scene left residents shaken, with several reporting they heard multiple rounds of gunfire echo through the complex. Families were seen gathering outside, some ushering children away as officers secured the area and began searching for evidence.
Police have not said whether the victims were specifically targeted or caught in the crossfire, and it remains unclear what connection, if any, they had to the suspects.
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274).
MPD has increased patrols in the Parkway Village area to reassure residents as detectives continue their search for the suspects.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more details are released by police.
