In Loving Memory of Realone ItIs
Today, our hearts are heavy as we come together to remember and honor the life of Realone ItIs — a cherished member of the community, a friend, a family member, and a soul taken too soon.
In the early hours of a now‑tragic day along 2nd Street Court SW in Hickory, what should have been a quiet moment turned into a scene of confusion, shock, and profound loss. Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple rounds fired, and in the midst of that chaos, we learned the heartbreaking news: Realone was struck and killed in that shooting. As the police secured the scene and investigators worked to piece together what happened, the community stood in stunned disbelief, struggling to reconcile this violent act with the reality that a vibrant life had ended.
But even as we grieve the circumstances of Realone’s passing, we must first and foremost remember the person they were — the life they lived, the joy they brought to others, and the impact left behind in the hearts of those who knew and loved them
Realone’s life was a reminder of the beauty that exists even in ordinary moments — moments of friendship, kindness, laughter, and connection. Those moments matter, and they continue to matter now more than ever.
We mourn not just the loss of a life, but the violence that ended it. As the investigation continues and more details emerge, may we hold space not for further division, but for understanding, compassion, and hope.
