Maria Del Rosario Cortes Salinas, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, was rushed to a nearby hospital where medical staff fought tirelessly to save her life. Despite aggressive medical treatment, she sadly passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning due to the serious injuries she sustained.
Authorities confirmed that both Hernandez and Salinas were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the incident. Another individual involved in the crash was also transported to the hospital with critical injuries. An infant who was in the vehicle was taken to the hospital as well and fortunately suffered only minor injuries.
