He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries. Despite the tireless efforts of medical professionals, Colby succumbed to his injuries the following day.
A second motorcyclist sustained minor injuries after laying his bike down in an attempt to avoid the crash. Authorities have stated that the driver of the BMW told police he did not see Colby before the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
