In Loving Memory of Ruth Pridemore 🕊️

The communities of Willard and Huron County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ruth Pridemore, an 81-year-old woman whose life was tragically taken in a devastating multi-vehicle accident on March 9, 2026. Her passing has left family members, friends, and neighbors grieving the loss of a woman remembered for her warmth, kindness, and deep love for those around her.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 1:28 p.m. on State Route 61 near the village of Plymouth. Authorities say the collision happened within an active roadwork zone where traffic was being directed by a flagger.

Investigators reported that Ruth Pridemore was driving a 2024 Hyundai Tucson when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2018 Ford F-150. The impact triggered a chain reaction involving two additional vehicles — a Toyota RAV4 and a Ram 1500.

The force of the crash proved fatal for Ruth Pridemore, who tragically lost her life as a result of the collision. Three other drivers involved in the accident — Michael Sexton, 55; Gurpreet Singh, 35; and Brian Mock, 50 — sustained minor injuries and were treated following the crash.

Emergency responders from several agencies quickly arrived at the scene to assist. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing and involves multiple departments, including the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the Huron County Coroner’s Office. Officials have asked that anyone with information about the incident contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol as the investigation continues.

While authorities work to determine the full details of what happened, the focus for many in the community is on remembering the life and legacy of Ruth Pridemore.

Ruth was more than just a resident of Willard — she was a cherished member of the community whose presence touched the lives of many. Those who knew her describe a woman with a gentle heart, a warm smile, and a genuine kindness that made people feel welcome and valued. She carried herself with grace and compassion, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word.

Family meant everything to Ruth. She treasured time spent with loved ones and built a life centered around care, connection, and the simple joys of being together. Friends and neighbors remember her as someone who believed deeply in community — someone who took pride in supporting those around her and creating meaningful relationships throughout her life.

Her sudden passing has created an emptiness that will be deeply felt by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Yet even in this time of grief, many are choosing to celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind — one built on kindness, generosity, and love.

Ruth Pridemore’s life reminds us of the quiet but powerful impact one person can have on a community. Through simple acts of compassion and a life lived with sincerity, she touched countless hearts.

As Willard and the surrounding Huron County community mourn this profound loss, they also hold tightly to the memories of Ruth — the conversations, the laughter, and the kindness that defined her life.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the community she helped shape through her caring spirit.
