VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – August 27, 2025 – The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) is actively investigating a fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of Steven White II, 37, of Norfolk, and left others hospitalized with serious injuries. The crash occurred early Sunday morning on London Bridge Road.
According to reports, at approximately 2:19 a.m. on August 23, 2025, Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received multiple calls reporting a collision in the 600 block of London Bridge Road. VBPD officers responded immediately to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered that White had suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed that White’s vehicle had been struck by another vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of London Bridge Road, resulting in a catastrophic head-on collision.
The second vehicle was driven by Erwin Marroquin-Herrera, 26, of Virginia Beach, who was accompanied by an adult male passenger. Both were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Following the incident, Marroquin-Herrera was charged with manslaughter, DUI (first offense), and two counts of possession of fictitious identification. VBPD emphasized that these charges are allegations, and Marroquin-Herrera is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
