First Shooting – Seaport District
According to SPD, the first incident happened at approximately 8:31 a.m. Saturday morning near the intersection of West Hazelton Avenue and South Harrison Street in Stockton’s Seaport District.
Police said a 60-year-old man was struck by gunfire under circumstances that remain under investigation. Officers and emergency responders arrived on scene quickly and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, the man later died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Second Shooting – Early Morning Fatality
Hours earlier, SPD had also responded to a separate shooting in another part of Stockton. In that incident, which occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, officers found a 30-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency crews attempted to assist the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The location of the second shooting has not yet been publicly disclosed by SPD as detectives continue to gather evidence.
Detectives Take Over Investigations
Both crime scenes were secured, and SPD detectives have taken over the investigations. Authorities are actively interviewing witnesses, canvassing nearby neighborhoods, and reviewing available video surveillance footage in hopes of identifying suspects or motives.
SPD has not yet released information on whether the two shootings are believed to be connected or if they are isolated incidents.
