Hoover, AL (August 31, 2025) — Authorities are investigating a heartbreaking drowning incident that resulted in the death of an 8-year-old boy, identified as Greyson Maiden, in a private swimming pool Saturday evening in Hoover, Alabama.
According to the Hoover Police Department, officers and fire medics were dispatched around 8:00 p.m. to a residence in the 2000 block of River Lake Drive in the Southlake subdivision after reports that a child had been found unresponsive in a backyard pool.
