Great Village, N.S. – A 63-year-old man from East Village has died following a tragic motorcycle crash on Friday morning in Colchester County. The incident has prompted an investigation by the Colchester County District RCMP, who continue to piece together the events that led to the collision.
On August 29, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., emergency responders were called to Station Rd. in Great Village after reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. Members of the Colchester County District RCMP, local fire services, and Emergency Health Services (EHS) quickly arrived on scene.
When responders reached the location, they discovered the rider lying in a ditch near the roadway. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the 63-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not released his name, but they confirmed he was a resident of East Village.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the crash site to conduct a detailed analysis of the scene. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the factors that may have contributed to the collision.
As a result of the crash, a section of Station Rd. was temporarily closed to traffic for several hours on Friday to allow investigators to examine the area safely. The roadway has since reopened to the public.
Authorities have expressed their condolences, stating: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this difficult time.”
The RCMP confirmed the investigation is being handled under file number 2025-1271775.
