Minneapolis Community Mourns After Tragic Shooting at Annunciation Church

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The city of Minneapolis is grappling with an unimaginable tragedy following a shooting at Annunciation Church that left two students dead and 17 others injured during a Sunday service attended by children and families. Authorities confirm that the suspect, 23-year-old Robin Westman, died at the scene. Investigators continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident, but the focus remains on the victims, their families, and the broader community as they cope with the aftermath

The normally peaceful congregation was thrown into chaos as gunfire erupted. Witnesses describe parents shielding their children and families rushing to safety, with the entire community left in shock at the scale of the violence.

“This is a heartbreaking day for Minneapolis,” said Police Chief Erik Thomason. “Our thoughts are with the families and everyone affected by this tragic event.”

In response, local leaders and residents have rallied together to support survivors and the families of those lost. Vigils and memorials are being organized, while counseling services have been made available for children, families, and other community members in need of support.

Governor Tim Walz and other state officials have pledged full assistance to the victims’ families, and the community continues to come together in solidarity during this difficult time.

As the city mourns, residents are encouraged to offer support and compassion to those directly affected and to honor the memories of the lives lost. The names of the victims have not yet been released as authorities continue to notify families.

The focus remains on healing, community resilience, and standing together in the face of this tragedy.
