GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. — The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place Sunday night near the Havana Heights Apartments, leaving one man hospitalized.
Sheriff Morris Young confirmed the incident occurred around the intersection of 16th Street and South Main Street in Havana. Deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving reports of gunfire in the area.
Victim Hospitalized
Authorities said a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical crews quickly rendered aid before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital. As of late Sunday night, officials have not released details about the man’s identity or current condition.
Active Investigation
Deputies remained on the scene for several hours after the shooting, working to secure the area and collect evidence. Investigators canvassed the neighborhood, speaking with residents in hopes of gathering information on what led up to the violence.
