SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Authorities have arrested 26-year-old Sasha Shakur, a biological male who uses she/her pronouns, in connection with the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old father near Jordan Park. The incident occurred shortly after the victim had dropped off his child at a nearby elementary school.
According to police, the deadly confrontation began when Shakur was reportedly spray-painting graffiti on a local bridge. The victim confronted Shakur over the vandalism, and during the encounter, Shakur allegedly became enraged and shot the man. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Arrest and Investigation
Shakur was taken into custody at her home following the incident. Investigators noted that the property where she was arrested had been covered in graffiti, including slogans referencing “BLM,” “Free Palestine,” and “Defund the Police.”
Authorities confirmed that the victim was an upstanding community member and a parent, making the violent encounter particularly shocking to local residents.
Previous Violent History
This is not Shakur’s first run-in with the law. In 2022, she was arrested following a violent assault in Westborough, Massachusetts. According to a statement released by the Westborough Police Department, witnesses reported that Shakur had driven her vehicle toward the victim in an apparent attempt to strike him, then exited the car wielding a machete, which she used to attack the individual. The incident was described by authorities at the time as “brutal” and “violent.”
Charges
Shakur is currently facing charges in connection with the death of the 57-year-old father, and authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
