MAJOR INCIDENT SHUTS DOWN I-95 NEAR ABERDEEN, MARYLAND

A developing situation has brought traffic to a complete standstill on I-95 near the Aberdeen Proving Ground exit in Maryland. Motorists report being stranded for more than 30 minutes with little to no official communication from the Maryland State Police (MSP).

According to multiple witnesses on the ground, a serious accident occurred in the northbound lanes, leading to a heavy law enforcement presence. At least 15 state and county police vehicles have been seen rushing to the scene, with more arriving steadily.

Reports from the Scene

Early, unconfirmed reports suggest that an officer may have been struck by a truck. Witnesses state the truck driver fled the crash site and could now be hiding in nearby wooded areas. In response, law enforcement has shut down the interstate in both directions and launched a massive search.

Two police helicopters are actively circling overhead, scanning the ground below for any sign of the suspect. Deputies and troopers are reportedly canvassing the wooded areas off the highway, while the traffic backup stretches for miles.

Drivers Stranded

Commuters stuck in the gridlock describe a confusing and tense atmosphere. One motorist reported:

“We’re just half a mile from the accident scene and there’s no action being taken where we’re sitting. State troopers keep flying by us—something big is going on.”

Frustration is mounting as travelers remain in limbo, with no clear updates from MSP or highway authorities on when the road might reopen.
