GARDNER POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATES SHOOTING NEAR SOUTH BEDFORD STREET

GARDNER, KS – The Gardner Police Department is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 28, 2025.

At approximately 4:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Bedford Street following multiple reports of gunfire in the area.

Response and Victim Status

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male victim inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering lifesaving medical aid until emergency medical services arrived. The victim was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. His condition has not yet been released.

Investigation Ongoing

Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting and to identify any suspects involved. At this time, no arrests have been made, and no further details regarding potential suspects or motives are available.

The Gardner Police Department has secured the area as investigators continue to process the scene, collect evidence, and review surveillance footage from nearby residences and businesses.
