Fatal Traffic Crash in Biloela: Forensic Crash Unit Investigates

BILOELA, QLD — The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) is investigating a tragic incident that claimed the life of a local woman following a traffic crash in Biloela yesterday afternoon, August 23.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., emergency services were called to the intersection of Kroombit Street and Gladstone Road after reports that a white Toyota Landcruiser had collided with a motorised wheelchair.

Upon arrival, paramedics attended to the victim, a 66-year-old Biloela woman, who sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash. She was transported to Rockhampton Hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries later in the evening.

The driver of the Landcruiser, a 67-year-old man from Rosewood, remained at the scene and is assisting police with inquiries. Authorities have not laid any charges at this stage as investigations continue.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, including examining the scene, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing any available surveillance or dashcam footage.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or dashcam vision from the area at the time of the crash to come forward.

Authorities extended their condolences to the victim’s family, noting that incidents like this serve as a sobering reminder of the importance of vigilance and care on the road.
