DARTMOUTH, Mass. — A tragic early morning crash on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth claimed the life of 36-year-old Crystal Mullens of Freetown, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Authorities say troopers were dispatched to the eastbound side of I-195 at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday following reports of a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a heavily damaged vehicle and pronounced Crystal Mullens dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their identity has not been released at this time.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by multiple agencies, including the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS), and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit. Investigators have not yet determined what led to the fatal crash, and no further details have been released.
The sudden loss of Crystal Mullens has left family, friends, and the Freetown community heartbroken. Loved ones describe her as a caring, vibrant individual whose life was tragically cut short far too soon.
