Clinton Police Respond to Shooting; 21-Year-Old Injured

CLINTON, N.C. — Authorities in Clinton are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday afternoon, August 25, leaving a 21-year-old injured. Police confirmed that the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

According to Clinton Police Chief Anthony Davis, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Stetson and West Still streets at approximately 2:09 p.m. following reports of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel found multiple spent shell casings in the roadway, confirming that gunfire had occurred.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Chief Davis emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that police are working diligently to identify any suspects or witnesses. No arrests have been reported at this time.

Officials are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward.
