Angelica Barbour Identified as Victim in Fatal Incident

Londonderry, VT –  — Vermont State Police have identified the victim who was brought to SVMC and later pronounced deceased on Friday as 31-year-old Angelica Barbour of Brattleboro. The tragic circumstances surrounding her death are currently under investigation.

Authorities in Bennington were alerted to the situation around 3:30 p.m. Friday, when Barbour was reportedly dropped off at the medical center. Initial reports suggested the possibility of a gunshot wound, prompting police to secure the hospital to ensure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. After a thorough investigation at the scene, law enforcement determined that no shooting had occurred at the hospital.

An autopsy performed by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Barbour had not sustained any gunshot wounds. Instead, her death was caused by blunt force trauma to the neck and head. Investigators believe that Barbour was initially injured on Vermont Route 11 near the intersection with Mansfield Lane in Londonderry.

Vermont State Police are actively investigating the incident. One individual who had been previously detained in connection to the case has since been released, as authorities continue to gather information and identify any potential suspects.
