Annabelle Andrews Killed in Darlington County Crash After Vehicle Collision

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C.  — A tragic traffic accident on West Old Camden Road in Darlington County claimed the life of 15-year-old Annabelle Andrews Friday night, authorities confirmed.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., approximately six miles north of Hartsville. The crash involved a pickup truck attempting to pass another vehicle while both were traveling westbound. During the maneuver, the pickup struck the front portion of the other car, causing it to overturn into a ditch and eventually collide with a utility pole.

The collision proved fatal for Annabelle Andrews, the passenger in the car that was struck. Andrews, a 15-year-old sophomore at McBee High School, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Her death has sent shockwaves through the local community, particularly among her classmates, teachers, and friends who described her as a bright and vibrant young student.
