Standoff in Port Neches Ends After Father and Son Shot, Multiple Agencies Respond

PORT NECHES, Texas — A tense standoff unfolded in Port Neches as law enforcement responded to a shooting incident that left both a father and son critically injured. According to officials, the incident began inside a residential home, leading to a multi-hour response involving several local and regional agencies.

The wounded father was able to exit the house following the initial shooting and received immediate medical attention from first responders. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he currently remains in critical condition.

The son initially remained inside the home, refusing to respond to commands from officers. Due to the ongoing threat, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called to the scene to assist in managing the standoff. After several hours, the son ultimately exited the residence, suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face. He was immediately transported to a Houston-area hospital for treatment, and his current condition remains critical as well.

Authorities have not released additional details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police continue to investigate the incident, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
