JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — A harrowing incident unfolded last night in the 1400 block of Llano, leaving a father in critical condition and his son hospitalized following a reported shooting. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., prompting a large-scale, multi-agency response.
According to preliminary reports, dispatch advised that the son had shot his father. The father, who sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, was able to exit the residence and was immediately transported to a Houston hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Officers responding to the scene encountered difficulties in making contact with the son, who remained inside the house. Despite multiple attempts to engage him, he did not come out voluntarily. Due to the severity of the situation, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) SWAT was called in to manage the standoff.
After an extended standoff, the son eventually exited the home with an apparent gunshot wound to the face. Preliminary information indicates that the injury was self-inflicted, and he was transported to the same Houston hospital for treatment. His condition has not been publicly disclosed.
