Last night, our radio family was struck with tragic news that has left us all at a loss for words. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Felipe “El Pacha” Madera, a cherished member of our WOBL and WDLW radio family.
Felipe was more than just an on-air personality—he was a friend, a mentor, and a steadfast presence in the lives of everyone at the station. For many years, he brought energy, passion, and authenticity to the Sabor Latino show on Sundays, connecting with listeners and colleagues alike with his warmth and charisma. His voice wasn’t just heard—it was felt, resonating deeply with the community he served.
When we took ownership of the station, Felipe stood by our side, supporting us with loyalty and faith in our vision. His dedication and encouragement during that time will never be forgotten, and I am forever grateful for his unwavering support and friendship.
Beyond his professionalism, Felipe was a genuine and kind-hearted soul. He touched the lives of everyone around him, both on and off the air. He brought laughter, guidance, and a sense of family to our station that made WOBL and WDLW feel like more than just workplaces—they were home.
