Two Arrested in Connection with Galesburg Shooting on E. Berrien Street — Marques McClendon and Darius Holloway in Custody

GALESBURG, Ill. — Authorities have arrested 19-year-old Marques McClendon and 18-year-old Darius Holloway in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon on the 1100 block of E. Berrien Street in Galesburg. Officers located the suspects around 4:00 p.m. on August 28, 2025, at a residence in the 300 block of W. Brooks Street.

Charges and Custody

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Marques McClendon, 19, faces charges of:

•Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm

•Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

•Reckless Discharge of a Firearm

Darius Holloway, 18, faces the same charges:

•Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm

•Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

•Reckless Discharge of a Firearm

Both McClendon and Holloway are currently being held at the Knox County Jail pending further proceedings.
