CONROE, TX — Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a crash on I-45 just north of SH 105 earlier today. The victim has been named as Joseph Zapf, 40, of Madison, Wisconsin.
Preliminary reports indicate that Zapf was traveling northbound on the main lanes of I-45 when he collided with one vehicle, was ejected from his motorcycle, and then struck by a second vehicle. Emergency responders from Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) and the Conroe Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene, providing life-saving measures, but Zapf was pronounced deceased on site.
