BRADENTON, Fla. – The Bradenton Police Department (BPD) has launched a homicide investigation following a deadly shooting that occurred late Sunday night in the 400 block of 11th Avenue East.
According to BPD officials, officers were dispatched at approximately 11:28 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds outside of a residence.
Officers immediately administered first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early Monday morning.
As of this morning, BPD detectives, along with members of the Manatee Homicide Investigative Unit, continue to process the crime scene, gather evidence, and conduct interviews with potential witnesses. Investigators have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities have not announced any suspects or arrests in connection with the case, and a motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

“This was a violent act that took a life in our community, and we are committed to pursuing every lead,” a BPD spokesperson said. “We encourage anyone with information—no matter how small—to reach out and help us bring closure to the victim’s family.”
The incident has left residents of the neighborhood shaken, as police continue to maintain a presence in the area to reassure the public and seek out additional evidence.
