Teamwork Leads to Arrests Following Early Morning Shooting in Marshall

MARSHALL, Texas — A coordinated multi-agency effort has led to the arrest of Braylon George, 20, and JerBraylon Brazzell, 19, both of Marshall, following an early morning vehicle shooting that left a victim seriously injured, authorities announced Monday.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Marshall Police Patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of W. Pinecrest Drive. Shortly after, police were alerted that a gunshot victim had arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to both legs.

Swift Investigation and Multi-Agency Collaboration

Detectives from the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division (CID), in partnership with the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, immediately launched an investigation. Officers worked through the night, executing multiple search warrants and following leads that quickly identified suspects.

As a result, George and Brazzell were arrested in connection to the incident. Both men were charged with Aggravated Assault from a Moving Vehicle, a first-degree felony.

Authorities have confirmed that a third suspect has been identified and is currently being sought.

Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth praised the coordinated effort:

I am proud of the dedication shown by every officer involved. We will continue working together to hold those who endanger our community accountable.”

Victim Status

The victim remains in serious condition, and authorities have indicated that additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
