Two Killed in Fatal Head-On Collision on US-62 in Muskogee County

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. — A tragic head-on collision on Sunday, August 24, 2025, claimed the lives of Drake M. Long, 32, and an unnamed juvenile passenger in Muskogee County, according to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) and multiple news outlets. The incident caused a temporary closure of US-62 between West 33rd and West 43rd streets, which has since been reopened.

Crash Details

The OHP reported that the crash occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. on US-62 near West 33rd Street South. The collision involved a Jeep and a northbound tractor-trailer rig.

Preliminary reports indicate that Drake M. Long, driving the Jeep southbound, lost control and went left of center, striking the northbound tractor-trailer head-on.

Both occupants of the Jeep were wearing seat belts, but tragically, Drake M. Long and the unnamed juvenile passenger died from their injuries at the scene. Authorities have not released the name of the juvenile passenger pending notification of family members.
