17-Year-Old Arrested After Girlfriend Fatally Shot at Northeast Oklahoma City Home

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Authorities say 17-year-old Shyanne Crawford was fatally shot over the weekend at a home in northeast Oklahoma City, and her 17-year-old boyfriend has been arrested in connection with her death.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:15 p.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting at a home near Northeast 20th Street and Bath Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered Crawford inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Investigators said her boyfriend, also 17, allegedly fired the fatal shot before fleeing the scene. Police quickly located and arrested him. He has since been booked into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center on a complaint of murder.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and homicide detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

Crawford’s tragic death has left family, friends, and classmates in mourning. At just 17, she was described as a kindhearted young woman with a bright future ahead of her.
